Give your puppy his own space. Like humans, your dogs will want a personal space. The area should be big enough so that he can run around, turn around or even stand up. The personal space can be a crate that can serve as his room.
Learn your puppy’s body language or body gestures. By doing so, you will be able to determine if he needs to relieve himself.
Give praises when needed. A positive tone will enforce to your puppy that you liked what he did. If he does a good job with his toilet needs, then don’t be such a miser in giving praises.
Develop his routine. His everyday toilet needs have to be developed at a young age. You can take him for a walk first thing in the morning, after his feeding time, or before his bedtime. This will give him the clue that it’s his time to relieve himself. Don’t use any aggressive type of punishment. Being harsh can make your puppy feel bad and demoralized. Also, don’t overuse the use of punishment. House training your dog is one way of building a harmonious relationship between the two of you.
